n 1922 Stevens Paper Mills acquired the former Merwin Paper Company property in Windsor, Connecticut. The manufacturing facility was originally a cotton factory, and was later converted to paper manufacturing. The Stevens Paper Company owned and operated four locations in Western Massachusetts and Connecticut, but in 1979 the company closed its doors. The Windsor mill was acquired by a group of investors under the name of Windsor-Stevens, Inc. in 1980, and operated the mill until the employees engineered a buyout of that ownership group in 1987. The company operated as an ESOP until December 2014 when senior management acquired the company as Specialty Paper Mfg LLC dba Windsor Stevens. Windsor Stevens is a privately owned specialty paper manufacturing business, specializing in electrical insulations and specialty fiberboards, with offices in East Windsor, Connecticut and manufacturing in upstate New York. Windsor Stevens prides itself on offering high quality materials, reliable service and maintaining an excellent reputation with our customers. Windsor Stevens specialty paper product line ranges from Kraft Insulation to UL recognized 94V-0 and 94HB grades, and we offer full converting options so that we can provide our customers with the material that they need in rolls, coils or sheets. VHR-115 is commonly referred to as “fish paper” and is an excellent vulcanized fiber replacement material, and our E-FR offers an excellent alternative for low temperature(110C) 94V-0 electrical applications. Our products offer superior physical properties and excellent formability, and perform well on a variety of fabrication equipment, including rotary dies, presses, and laser cutting equipment.
