The Wilmington Fibre Specialty Company located in New Castle, DE was established in 1904 and is a 4th generation family owned business. The company was taken over in 1992 by Jeffrey M. Morris and B. Scott Morris, the great grandchildren of the original founder John W Morris. Although the company’s customer foundation was based on the Electrical, Fastener, Automotive and Plumbing Industries, the two brothers focused on other possibilities and opportunities. Their business plan of diversification paid off and now the company has expanded into musical accessories and become the world’s largest guitar pick manufacturer, supplying all the large US guitar and strings Manufacturers with printed and packaged guitar picks. The imprinting part of the business (required for guitar picks) didn’t exist prior to the takeover and has complemented the original product lines by adding the service of marking parts with customer specifications. The company’s printing capabilities include hot stamping, pad printing and digital marking technologies.

The company also grew into the manufacturing of guitar parts. Wilmington Fibre’s fabrication capabilities include Screw Machining, Die Cutting/Stamping, CNC Machining and Laser Cutting. Wilmington Fibre wouldn’t exist today without its very talented and dedicated employees. This year the company will celebrate its Stamping Department Foreman’s 54 year anniversary with Wilmington Fibre.
